The strength of concrete, the watertightness of steel
Steel-cylinder reinforced concrete pipes consist of a concrete wall containing a cylindrical steel sheet, providing watertightness and strength, and a transverse reinforcement stiffened by a longitudinal reinforcement. They are manufactured in series to the customer’s requirements.
- Diameters from 1000 to 2500 mm, useful length 6 to 7 m
- Two types of joint: butt-welded (rigid, ideal for pressure networks) or elastic with a metal spigot and a rubber ring (flexible, gravity or low-pressure networks)
- Holds the ACS (French health conformity certificate) for drinking-water transfer; does not alter the organoleptic properties of the water
- Permanent protection of the metal parts against corrosion by passivation
- Very high transverse stiffness: ovalisation behaviour superior to other materials
- Not affected by corrosion caused by stray currents
- Complies with standards UNE-EN 639, 641 and 642, and with the Eduardo Torroja Institute instruction
- Manufactured by Prefabricados Delta, which has already produced about 500 km of this type of pipe

The benefits at a glance
Robust
High impact resistance, great durability, and the ability to withstand heavy backfill and rolling loads.
Watertight
The cylindrical steel core makes the pipe watertight.
No impact on the water
Non-polluting, these pipes do not alter the organoleptic properties of the water.
Maintenance-free
No preservation or maintenance needed, and head loss that decreases over time.
Made to the customer's order
Series production to the customer’s requirements, pipes and accessories included.

Accessories and associated parts
A high-performance pipeline is nothing without the right accessories: we help you put together a coherent system.
Joints and fittings
Butt-welded or elastic joint, depending on working pressure and type of network.
Connection and access pieces
Bends, tees and Y-pieces, flanged fittings, special couplings, end caps, inspection manholes and access manholes.
Custom parts
Specific inlets and outlets, collectors, distribution chambers, fabricated steel parts.
Your questions about steel-cylinder reinforced concrete
Why offer steel-cylinder reinforced concrete?
Because it meets specific needs: large diameters (1000 to 2500 mm), heavy backfill or traffic loads, pressure networks with welded joints. Our advice remains multi-material.
What types of joint are available?
Two types: the butt-welded joint, rigid and ideal for pressure networks; and the elastic joint, flexible, with a metal spigot and a rubber ring, for gravity or low-pressure networks, with good watertightness.
What are the manufacturing lead times?
They depend on quantities and the factory schedule. We give you an estimate in the offer.
